Invitation

This was the first project we did for design procedures. The assignment was to make an invitation to an event. I decided to do a cocktail party. The image was created in illustrator then the text was placed in indesign. I feel that I made a simple but effective image. The only real downfall was the text, it is kind of small and hard to read. Even with the text as is, I recieved an A- on this invite.

Love Your Body

This is a project for visual communications. It was made for the Love Your Body Campaign. I created this poster in illustrator. For the woman's body, I used a pen tablet. This will be submitted into the Love Your Body poster contest, wish me luck!

Self Portrait

This is a self portrait that we worked on in illustration. In the span of about two and a half hours we completed realistic looking portraits. The technique was to start with vine charcoal, then once most of the portrait was finished, we went in with a harder charcoal pencil. The finishing touch was white conte to really pop the image from the page. I feel my overall result was pretty good.

Book Cover

This is my book cover for Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. The book cover was a project for design procedures. I wanted to take all of my own images for this project, rather than using a stock photo. Again, my sister was the model. Originally, I had the cover in black, white and red, but as fun as printers are... it wasn't going to print the final that way. The end result was black, white red and a purplish color. Everyone seemed to like the purple version better, so that's what I went with. Below is the cover in flat form.

Sleep

So this was my first project for typography class. The assignment was to photograph a word. So, I employed my sister Nicole to be my model for my spit sleep. I used water and a paintbrush to get the lettering the way I wanted, and voila! finished picture. My teacher Cindy liked the print. She said it reminded her of her own daughter in the morning. I received an A on the project- yay!
